Obituary for Jack R. Perciful
Jack R. Perciful, D.M.D, 88, of Louisville, went home to his Father and Savior, on March 10th at Glen Ridge Health Campus surrounded by his family.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Hobart McKinley and Effie Perciful of Mt. Vernon, KY and a brother, Lewis Perciful, of Louisville.
Jack is survived by his wife of 47 years, Nell D. Perciful, a son, John L. Perciful (Sherry) of Louisville, a daughter, Diane Sauter of Cape Coral, FL; grandsons, Jordan Perciful (Marissa) of New Albany, Joseph Sauter of Cape Coral, FL; granddaughters, Lindsay (Jon) Renner and Michelle (Mike) Mast of Lake Wales, FL; nieces, Janice (Jack) Stevenson of Venice Beach, FL, Rachel Brown of Memphis, IN; nephew, Scott (Amber) Compton of Columbia, SC. He also leaves 8 great-grandchildren, multiple great nieces and nephews and beloved in-laws and family members.
He was a native of Mt. Vernon, KY in Rockcastle County. A graduate of University of Louisville dental school, Jack practiced as an Orthodontist in Louisville for nearly 25 years. Jack was a diplomat of the American Association of Orthodontics and member of the KY Association of Orthodontics.
Jack was a member of the Flying Dentists and enjoyed flying with Nell throughout the United States. He was US Navy veteran, a life-long Ham radio operator (N4TR), enjoyed fishing and tinkering in the yard.
His service will be 10:30am Saturday at Highlands Funeral Home, 3331 Taylorsville Road, with burial to follow in Calvary Cemetery. Visitation will be 2-7pm Friday and an hour prior to the service Saturday, both at the funeral home.
The family thanks the excellent caregivers at Belmont Village, Jewish Hospital 5-West, Glen Ridge Health Campus and Hosparus of Louisville for their skilled and compassionate care.
Jack was a member of Mt. Vernon Christian church and attended the Okolona Christian Church. Expressions of sympathy of can be given to Okolona Christian Church in Louisville.
