Condolences

Condolence From: Debbie Nelson
Condolence: At the beginning of my leadership career, I was fortunate to be hired by Margo at Baptist Hospital Highlands. I had the honor of continuing to work with her when Highlands was closed and the Acute Rehab and Behavioral Health services were moved to the Baptist East campus.
Margo was a fabulous mentor and friend. She was a true servant leader and had a genuine respect for everyone. We had many good times and laughs along with many challenges. I will always cherish the guidance she provided in her humble and unassuming manner. She helped shape the foundation of my leadership style. She mentored the value of building relationships. Early in my administrative career, when faced with a challenge, I remember thinking, "How would Margo handle this?"
I am forever grateful that our paths crossed and she convinced me that coming to work at Baptist was the right decision. Thanks for sharing your gifts and talents. While you are missed, so glad you are now resting peacefully.

Condolence: To Margo's friends and family,
Margo was one of my first dear friends I made when I first moved to Louisville. We met on emergency basis with her cat Tipper. We immediately became wonderful friends even though there was a 30 year age difference. She was there at the birth of my daughter and was the second person to hold her when she was born. I still find it funny that she was there holding my hand as I was in Labor at Baptist East and the nurses coming into my room to find her there. I definitely received the royal treatment after that. We enjoyed going walking at Baptist healthcare fitness center, lunching, and she baby sat my daughter on so many occasions. We laughed and cried as I took care of all her animals. Margo always had a smile and gentleness that will be missed. Love you lady!

Condolence: To Margo's family and friends,
I also worked with Margo at Baptist Hospital East. She hired me and was my supervisor for a number of years. I learned a tremendous amount during my time with Margo both professionally and personally. She was bright, self possessed and unassuming. If you didn't pay attention all of the talent and gifts she brought to the job could have easily been overlooked because of her humble style. I often felt her talents and gifts were overlooked and underrated by lots of her peers. She never seemed to even notice any of this since her focus was on doing a great job and supporting and developing the talents of those who worked by and for her. I am ever so grateful for this gift of having worked with Margo.
I will also always remember the love and devotion she had for her pets. One of her cats had diabetes and she would take her lunch period to go home and give the loved pet the shots needed.
I considered her a friend as well as a co-worker. I had tremendous respect for this special friend. Thanks Margo for everything. I'm sure you are experiencing your just reward for the loving life you led.
