Obituary for Joseph Locke

LOCKE, Joseph Knight, 92, of Louisville, passed away Saturday, August 20, 2016 at Norton.
Born in Hiseville, KY, he was a WWII U.S. Navy veteran, where he served on a minesweeper in the Pacific in Tokyo Bay. He was a retired Claims Manager for Commercial Union, former President of Louisville Claims Manager Association and former chairman of Louisville Arbitration Committee. He was a KY Colonel, a member of Southeast Christian Church where he served for years as a communion server, usher and tour guide, and had recently attended Hikes Point Christian Church.
Joseph was preceded in death by his wife, Celeste (Creech) Locke; and siblings, Carl, Orville, Minnie, Vera Lillian, and Barbara Rose Locke.
He is survived by beloved dog companion, Lily; nieces, Donna Seymour (Randy) of Upton, KY and Mary Ann Locke of Louisville, KY; nephew, Billy Locke of Glasgow, KY; friend, Sara Jane Rankin of Waddy, KY; 7 great nieces and nephews; 11 great-great nieces and nephews; and a loving extended family and friends.
Joseph’s funeral service will be at 1 pm on Thursday, August 25, 2016 at Highlands Funeral Home, 3331 Taylorsville Road, with burial to follow in Resthaven Cemetery. Visitation will be from 2-8pm on Wednesday at Highlands.
