Obituary for Adrienne George HARDESTY

81, passed away Tuesday, February 23, 2010 at Jewish Hospital. She was a retired Federal Employee of the U.S. Commerce Dept., Bureau of the Census in Jeffersonville, IN. Born in Seymour, IN, to Francis I. and Elsie McDougal George; who preceded her in death. She attended Indiana University and worked at Jackson County Loan and Trust in Seymour before moving to Louisville, KY after marrying Joseph D. Hardesty, Jr., of Seymour. She was an active volunteer at Falls of the Ohio State Park, Muscatatuck National Wildlife Refuge, Community Kitchen of Jeffersonville. She was a member of Clark Grant Historical Society, Clarksville Historical Society, Beckham Bird Club, and a director of the Ancient Kentucke Historical Assn. She was preceded in death by her grandson, Christopher Michael Hardesty. Two sisters preceded her in death, Norma Barnett and Edith Meador. She is survived by her children, Joseph C., Kevin G. (Debra), Maurice J., Jack, Sue A., Robert G. (Lauren), M. Adrienne Carmichael (Chris), and George S. Hardesty. There are nine grandchildren and two great-grandchildren that survive. One niece and six nephews also survive. Memorial visitation will be from 10 a.m.-2 p.m. Saturday, February 27, at Highlands Funeral Home, 3331 Taylorsville Rd. A memorial service will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday at Highlands. An inurnment will take place at a later date in Riverside Cemetery, Seymour, IN. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to The Falls of the Ohio Foundation, Inc., 201 W. Riverside Dr., Clarksville, IN, 47129 or the Ancient Kentucke Historical Society, 1324 Garden Hill Pl, 40245.
