RILEY, Betty J., 81, passed away Sunday, February 20, 2011. She was retired from General Electric Appliance Park. Betty was preceded in death by her husband; Omer Riley; her parents, Carl and Reubie Werkmeister; three sisters, Sandra Werkmeister, Dorothy Hankins, and Marianna Lipa; and a brother, Danny Werkmeister. She is survived by three brothers, Carl Werkmeister (Barbara), of Mt Washington, Richard Werkmeister (Joyce), of Indiantown FL, and Robert Werkmeister (Mallie Jo), of Shepherdsville; a sister, Shirley Colvin (Sherman), of Mt Washington; a dear friend Norma “Nonnie” Minrath, of St. Matthews; and many nieces and nephews. Her funeral service will be at 7 p.m. Wednesday, February 23, at Highlands Family-Owned Funeral Home, 3331 Taylorsville Rd. Visitation will be from 1 p.m. until time of service Wednesday night. Her burial will take place Thursday at 2 p.m. CST in Park Lawn Cemetery, 1526 S Green River Rd Evansville IN, with a one hour visitation prior to the burial. Expressions of sympathy may be made the KY Humane Society or the Louisville Zoo.
