74,of Louisville passed away Wednesday, December 23, 2009 surrounded by her loving family. She worked as an employment caseworker for the state of Kentucky and as an administrator for the Thomas Merton Foundation at Bellarmine College. She is preceded in death by her husband, Leonard J. Hayes Jr. She is survived by her, Leonard Hays III M.D., and Gregory Hays (Connie); daughters, Julie Whitesides (Marvin),and Laura Steffey (Garry); sister, Emily Felhoelter (Bruce); grandchildren, Amanda Wilkreson, Kristin Winebrenner, Christopher Hays, Lindsay Dillman, Taylor Hays, Nicolas Winebrenner, Matthew Hays and Mason Hays and great-grandchildren Michael and Dylan and beloved caregiver, Dixie Lord. Her funeral Mass will be at 10 a.m. Monday, December 28, 2009 at St. Agnes Catholic Church, 1920 Newburg Road, with burial in Cave Hill Cemetery. Visitation will be from 2-8 p.m. Sunday at Highlands Family-Owned Funeral Home, 3331 Taylorsville Rd. Expressions of sympathy may be may be made to the American Diabetes Association or Hosparus.
