Pickett, Charles R. “Charlie” 89, of Vine Grove, passed away on Saturday, February 8, 2014 at The Hosparus Inpatient Care Center in Louisville.

Charles was born and raised in Greensburg, Ky. He proudly served in the Army during World War Two, and was a retired civil service employee. He enjoyed collecting antiques, hunting , fishing, gardening. University of Kentucky Basketball, and searching for lost golf balls. A loving husband, father and papaw,
he will always be remembered for his stories.

He was preceded in death by his daughter Paula Farris, brothers Austin and Gene Pickett.

Survived by his loving wife, Margaret Pickett; daughters Sherry L. Johnson (John), Theresa A. Meyers (Arvil); grandchildren, David Johnson (Laura), Christopher Johnson, Whitney Abell (Eric), Blake Meyers, Bradley Farris, and Sarah Farris; Great grandchildren, Sam and Caroline Johnson; sisters, Julia Curd, Margaret O’Banion, and Cecilia McConnell; brothers William and Brooks Pickett; and many nieces, nephews and extended family.

Funeral will be held on Friday, February 14, 2014, 10 a.m. at Coffey & Chism Funeral Home in Vine Grove, KY. Visitation will be from 4-8 p.m. Thursday and 9 a.m. till time of service at the funeral home with burial to follow at 11 a.m. at Kentucky Veterans Cemetery, Radcliff, KY.
