Obituary for Clara Mae Glaspie

GLASPIE, CLARA MAE (ASHLEY), 79, of Louisville, passed away Friday, August 26, 2011 at the Nazareth Home.
She was born September 24, 1931 in Grayson Co., KY. Clara was a member of Southeast Christian Church. Her compassionate heart and humble spirit touched all who knew her. Her beautiful smile was a gift from God.
She loved her family deeply. She enjoyed cooking, gardening and always being a caretaker for others. She was co-owner of the Union Restaurant, located in the Trailways Bus Station, she worked at Casa Grisanti's, catered for the Dixie Post 220 VFW and waitressed and cooked at Bonnie's Restaurant. Her home and heart were always open to everyone.
She was preceded in death by husband, Roy S. Glaspie; son, David Glaspie; four brothers and two sisters.
She is survived by son, Steve (Teresa); daughters, Martha Williams (David) and Donna Masino (David); daughter-in-law, Donna Glaspie; brother, R.T. Ashley (Mary); grandchildren, Eric Rakutt (Tanya), Stephen Glaspie, Michael McCollum, Stephanie Glaspie and Kenny, Kevin (Barb) and Scott Williams; seven great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; and many nieces and nephews.
Her funeral service is 11 a.m. Wednesday, August 31, 2011 at Highlands Funeral Home, 3331 Taylorsville Road, with burial at Evergreen Cemetery. Visitation: 2-8 p.m. Tuesday and 9-11 a.m. Wednesday.
