Strubel, David Garnet, 80, of Louisville, passed away Monday, August 11, 2014, at Baptist Health Oncology Unit.

Born in Louisville, he was a graduate of Saint Xavier High School and a member of St. Margaret Mary Parish. He received a Masters Degree in Chemical Engineering from Louisville Speed Scientific School, was a member of Pi Kappa Phi Fraternity, a Licensed Professional Engineer and a member of the American Institute of Chemical Engineers. He retired from Brown & Williamson Tobacco Corporation with over 30 years in the Research & Development Department. He was an avid reader and U of L fan. We will forever miss his fantastic memory and knowledge.

David is survived by his wife, Mary Elizabeth “Libby” Osborne, to whom he would have been married 57 years on Sunday, August 17; two sons, David (Monica) & Daniel; two daughters, Rose Strubel & Mary Clare Jodrie (Larry); three grandchildren, Courtney Strubel, Christine Robinson (Peter) & Sean Jodrie; sister, Della Maher (Joseph); sister-in-law, Dorothy Osborne and brother-in-law, Rev. Robert E. Osborne, and many nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be on Wednesday 3-8PM at Highlands Funeral Home, 3331 Taylorsville Rd. Mass of the Resurrection will be at 10:00 AM on Thursday at St. Margaret Mary Church, 7813 Shelbyville Rd., with the burial to follow at Calvary Cemetery.
