GOLDSMITH,Dorothy Dale, 88, of Louisville, KY, passed away Sunday, March 4, 2012 at her residence.
Born in Magnolia, KY, she was a retired LPN for the former St. Joseph Hospital. Dorothy graduated from Magnolia High School in 1940. During her career she was employed as an LPN by St. Joseph’s Hospital, Our Lady of Peace Hospital and Henery Vogt Machine Co., an in house nurse. After retirement she took private duty cases.
She was preceded in death by her husband, James E. Goldsmith; son, James K. Goldsmith; and sisters, Mary Skaggs and Maude Ratliff.
She is survived by her son, Bruce Goldsmith; daughter, Mary Anne Mahoy (Gary); daughter-in-law, Joyce Goldsmith; brothers, Hugh Kenneth Gardner and David Smith Gardner;; grandchildren, Kevin Goldsmith, Kyle Goldsmith (Anissa), Traci Hargadon (Don), Jessica Shelhammer , and Jeffrey Goldsmith; and eight great-grandchildren.
Her funeral service will be at 1 p.m. Wednesday, March 7 at Highlands Family-Owned Funeral Home, 3331 Taylorsville Rd. with burial to follow in Resthaven Cemetery. Visitation will be from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Tuesday at Highlands.
