Obituary for Eleanor Killin

KILLIN, Eleanor Cordelia Thornton, 96, formerly of Louisville and was most recently a resident of Thornton Terrace in Hanover, IN., passed away Thursday, February 17, 2011 at Kings Daughters Hospital in Madison, Indiana.
A native of Shelby Township, Jefferson County, IN., she was the former Eleanor Thornton. She graduated from Hanover College with a Bachelor of Arts in Christian Education. She was a retired purchasing agent for Vermont American where she had worked for 20 years 10 of those as purchasing manager. In her free time she loved to both sewing and tending to her flower garden
She was preceded in death by her husband, Kenneth Killin; and a brother, Truman W. Thornton.
Eleanor is survived by two step-sons, Robert D. and Thomas A. (Melinda) Killin: nephews, Pastor Donald P. (Shirley) and Dr. Robert P. Thornton (Mary), 4 step-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. Her service will be at 1:00p.m.Monday, February 21st at Hebron Baptist Church 6968 N Graham Road, Madison, IN.47250-8459, with burial in Hebron Cemetery to follow. Visitation will be from 11-1on Monday at the church prior to her service.
