SWART, Eleanor G., 98, passed away on Thursday, January 16, 2014.
Born in Chicago, Illinois, she was a devoted wife and parent. She was proud that after high school she graduated from beauty school and worked until her first child was born.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Henry “Hank” Swart, Jr., and her youngest son, James “Jim” Swart.
Eleanor is survived by her son, Henry, daughters-in-law, Linda and Rhonda; grandchildren, Rhonda Ann Nash (Will), Julie Swart, Jennifer Provano (Matt), Jessica Walker (John); great-grandchildren, Abby, Jacob, Alexa, Henry and Mason; and many nieces and nephews.
Mother had a very busy social life-she was a volunteer for the American Red Cross and was a charter member of the Compass Club. She loved to play bridge, mahjong, and bingo (there better be bridge and bingo in heaven!)
She requested cremation and that there be no viewing or funeral services. She also requested any expressions of sympathy be made to the Jim Swart Scholarship Fund at Butler Traditional High School, 2222 Crums Lane, Louisville, KY 40216.
