Obituary for Emily Armbruster

Emily Armbruster
ARMBRUSTER, Emily, 93, peacefully passed away on June 9, 2016.
Born in Columbus, Indiana on December 15, 1922, she was raised in Seymour, Indiana and grew up on the Seymour Country Club where her father was manager. She became an avid and accomplished golfer, winning a number of junior and women’s events in Indiana. She continued to play competitively and socially when she moved to Kentucky with the love of her life, Bill Armbruster, to raise a family. Emily was a 59 year member of Wildwood Country Club and a Life Member of the Women’s Falls City Golf Association.
She loved people and enjoyed the companionship of friends and family. Her wonderful attitude and love for others made her a friend to many. Her primary goal was to be a good mother to her children and she far exceeded that. She had a strong faith and for a period of time taught Sunday School at Meadowview Presbyterian Church.
She was preceded her in death by her husband of 62 years, William Armbruster; daughter, Janet Armbruster; parents, Ben and Katherine Keith; and sister, Martha Johnson.
She is survived by her daughter Susan Mullen of Scotch Plains, New Jersey; son, Phillip Armbruster of Louisville, KY; and several nieces and nephews.
Her Memorial service will be at 11:00 am Monday, June 13, 2016 at Highlands Funeral Home, 3331 Taylorsville Road. Visitation will be from 4-8 pm Sunday at Highlands.
The family wishes to thank Visiting Angels and Hosparus for their loving care.
