Obituary for Emily Schindler Voos

Emily Schindler Voos, 55, of Asheville, NC died Saturday, September 24, 2011 at her home . A native of Louisville, Kentucky, she was daughter of the late James Franklin Schindler who died in February 2011 and Ann Springgate Schindler of Louisville.
Emily was a talented Artist, storyteller and antique dealer. She taught and conducted Art camps, helped with disadvantaged elementary and middle school children and was a children’s book author and illustrator. She was a member of Central United Methodist Church.
In addition to her mother, she is survived by her husband, Dr. Gerard Voos; daughter, Victoria Reid Voos; two brothers, J. Martin Schindler and Michael Schindler and their families all of Louisville, KY and her father and mother-in-law, Hans and Marie Voos of Chocowinity, NC.
A graveside service will be held 10:00 AM., Friday, September 30. 2011 at Cave Hill Cemetery in Louisville. The family will receive friends from 5 – 7 PM, Thursday, September 29 at Highlands Family-Owned Funeral Home, 3331 Taylorsville Road, Louisville, KY.
