Obituary for Erwin E. Norman

NORMAN, ERWIN E., 89, of Louisville, passed away Thursday, March 10, 2011.
He was born on August 27, 1921 in Marion, IL. He proudly served his country in the Navy during World War II in the Pacific. After returning from the war he was an engineer at Henry Vogt Machine Company for 38 years. While working at Henry Vogt he supervised projects throughout the world including North Carolina, Alaska, California and Korea. Erwin was active in the Boy Scouts for many years and a troop leader through the fifties and sixties. He was an avid golfer, loved to travel and was a member of Shawnee Masonic Lodge # 830.
Erwin was preceded in death by his parents, Clara and Leon; and his brother, Milton.
He is survived by his wife of 65 years, the former Jane Wilson; son, Michael and his wife, Patti; daughter, Becky West and her husband, Will; granddaughter, Sarah Kotlova and her husband, Vas; and a great-granddaughter, Natalie.
His funeral service will be at 10 a.m. Monday, March 14, 2011 at Highlands Family-Owned Funeral Home, 3331 Taylorsville Road, with burial in Resthaven Cemetery. Visitation will be from 3-7 p.m. Sunday at Highlands.
