Ethelyn Walton McDonald
Louisville, KY

A funeral mass for Ethelyn Walton McDonald, of Louisville, KY, will be held at 11:00 AM on Monday, August 4, 2014, at Nazareth Home, 2000 Newburg Road, Louisville, KY, with entombment to follow at Cave Hill Cemetery. Visitation will be held on Sunday, August 3, 2014 from 2 to 7 PM at Highlands Funeral Home in Louisville, KY, and after 9:30 AM on Monday at Nazareth Home. She passed away peacefully on Wednesday, July 30, 2014 surrounded by her loving family.

She was born in Needham, MA, was a member of St. Albert the Great and St. Stephen Martyr Catholic Churches. She enjoyed spending her time playing bridge, piano and golf. She and John were active members of Hunting Creek Country Club for over 20 years. She volunteered with Meals on Wheels, Queens Daughters of Louisville, Psi Iota Xi Sorority in Mt. Vernon, OH, and Newcomers Club of Louisville.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Edwin and Alice Walton.

She is survived by her husband of 61 years, John McDonald; her four daughters, Joan Scott (Bill) of Jeffersonville, IN, Marcia Biagi (Robert) of Shelbyville, KY, Beth Ernst (Marty) of Louisville, KY, and Meg Berry (Bill) of Louisville, KY; nine grandchildren, Billy Scott (Elizabeth), Aaron Scott (Alanna), Lauren Scott, Shelley Biagi Warncke (David), Laura Biagi, Marty Ernst, Daniel Ernst, Molly Ernst and Jesse Berry; three great-granddaughters, June, Olive and Cora Scott; and many dear friends.

Memorial contributions should be made to the Boys and Girls Haven, 2301 Goldsmith Lane, Louisville, KY 40218, or the Kentucky Humane Society, 241 Steedly Drive, Louisville, KY 40214. Envelopes will be available at the funeral home.
