Frank F.   Coffey
Frank F. Coffey, 84, of Louisville, KY passed away January 26, 2016 after a brief illness.

He was a member of St. Raphael’s parish for over 40 years. He once served as president of the parish council and school board and coached and mentored students in basketball, football and baseball.

Frank worked for 3M before joining the Sisters of Charity at St. Joseph’s Infirmary as director of Public Relations. He later became a hospital administrator at Norton Children’s Hospital Foundation. A former president of the Public Relations Society of America, he was an entrepreneur and small business owner in retirement. He had a great love for gardening and served as president of the Jefferson County Extension Service, Louisville Daylily Society and the Midwest Peony Society.

Frank is survived by Helen Reiter Coffey, his loving wife of 63 years, his 9 children: Timothy (Nancy) of Lake Charles, LA, Linda Coffey Friedman (Ronny) of NYC, Terrence (Lisa) of Hellertown, PA, Cathy of Chattanooga, TN, Thomas, Ted (Deborah) of Louisville, Mary Coffey Otto (Jim) of Bryn Mawr, PA, Todd (Paula) and Peggy Tannehill (Steve) of Louisville, his brothers, Donald P. Coffey of St. Paul, MN, and David O. Coffey of Blaine, MN. He also has 14 grandchildren and 6 great-grandchildren.

His funeral Mass will be at 10:00 a.m. Monday, February 1, 2016 at St. Raphael Catholic Church, 2141 Lancashire Ave. with burial in Calvary Cemetery.

Visitation will be from 2:00 - 8:00 p.m. Sunday at Highlands Funeral Home, 3331 Taylorsville Rd.

Please join us in celebrating “Frank’s Sweet Life” at St. Raphael’s Sheehan Center. In lieu of flowers donations are suggested to the Mass of the Air and St. Vincent de Paul Society.
