PIPKIN, FRED, M.D., 85, of Louisville, died of pneumonia on Sunday, April 3, 2011 at Norton Hospital.
Born in LaFayette, TN, he was an Army veteran of World War II and a retired pediatrician.
He is survived by his wife of 62 years, Doris Elliott Pipkin, M.D.; sons, Ben Pipkin (Kathy), Steve Pipkin (Kim), Will Pipkin, Neal Pipkin (Kate) and John Pipkin (Mary); brother, Herbert Pipkin; and grandchildren, Jimmy, Sally, Jason, Lucy, Fred, Taylor and Ellie.
His funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, April 6, 2011 at Highlands Funeral Home, 3331 Taylorsville Road with burial in Cave Hill Cemetery. Visitation will be from 4-8 p.m. Tuesday at Highlands.
