STEPHENS, Gary R., 67, of Louisville, passed away on Thursday, July 3, 2014 at the VA Hospital.
Born in Evanston, IL, he was a U.S. Army veteran and served two tours in Vietnam. He was very patriotic, and loved his country. He belonged to American Legion, Polish American Veterans, VFW, and was very passionate about fellow troops. He also loved to fish.
He is survived by his children, Julie White (Karlton), Matt Stephens (Christina) and Sarah Tluczek (Jay); the mother of his children, Karen Stephens; and grandchildren, Simon, Ryan, Amelia and Benjamin.
There will be a memorial visitation for Gary from 5-8 pm on Wednesday, July 9th at Highlands Funeral Home, 3331 Taylorsville Road.
In lieu of flowers, expressions of sympathy may be made to the Wounded Warrior Project or Hosparus of Louisville.
