SMALL, GEORGE WILLIAM JR., 89, of Louisville, passed away Friday, February 10, 2012 at his residence.
Born in Thurmont, MD, he was employed at the Executive Inn and Audubon Country Club. George was a Navy World War II veteran where he commissioned and decommissioned the U.S.S. Hobby and also served as a gunner's mate on the ship.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Kathleen Hovis Small.
He is survived by his sons, George W. "Bill" Small III (Joy), Phillip C. Small and Stephen R. Small (Amy); brother, Jim Small (Louise); sisters, Peggy Brown and Pat Throstle (Neil); grandchildren, Jennifer (Clayton), Angela (David), Sarah, Jacob, Brandon, Madeline and Emily; and great-grandchildren, Caleb and Chloe.
His memorial service will be at 6 p.m. Saturday, February 18, 2012 at Highlands Family-Owned Funeral Home, 3331 Taylorsville Road. Visitation will be 4-7 p.m. Saturday at the funeral home.
