Obituary for Gilbert Lee Hardwick

HARDWICK, GILBERT LEE "GIL," 88, of Louisville passed away June 14, 2010.
He was born July 20, 1921, graduated from Manual HS and Clarkes Business School. Gil is a Navy Veteran of World War II. He retired as owner of Gil's Fish and Poultry.
Gil was a Master Mason in the Shawnee Lodge No. 830, F&AM, received the 32° from Scottish Rite, Knight Commander of the Court of Honor, received his 33° from Scottish Rite, Wise Master, Rose Croix and Tiler of all 4 Bodies. Gil was a past Potentate of Kosair Shrine Temple. He is a member of the Royal Order of Scotland and was this year's Sovereign of St. Barnabas Conclave, Red Cross of Constantine. Gil was a member of the Scottish Rite Foundation that serves children and ran the Golf Scramble for 15 years raising over $150,000 profit and was a Deacon of Beechwood Baptist Church. Gil was known for his positive thinking, loving ways and never passing a child in need.
Survivors include his loving wife Angeline Robilio Hardwick of 64 years, son Gilbert L. Hardwick, Jr. (Karen), daughter Dana Yvonne Bauguss (Bob), his granddaughters Melissa Yvonne Dean and Katherine Lee Hardwick, and numerous nieces and nephews.
His funeral service will be at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, June 19, 2010 at Highlands Funeral Home, 3331 Taylorsville Road, with burial to follow in Resthaven Cemetery. Visitation will be from 4-9 p.m. Thursday and from 2-5 and 7-9 p.m. Friday, at Highlands. His Rose Croix service will be held Thursday at 7 p.m. followed by a Masonic Service.
