GIBBS, Harold M., 73, of Louisville passed away Thursday, August 23, 2012 at Baptist Hospital East. A native of Cannelton, Indiana he was a retired advertising salesman from the Courier Journal-Louisville Times, a school teacher and coach at Eastern High School in Louisville and Utica School, in Utica, Indiana and a Deacon of Bethany Baptist Church. A 1957 graduate of Charlestown High School and he also graduated with a Bachelor of Education from Morehead State University and was past Master of Blazing Star # 226, Charlestown, IN. Harold is preceded in death by the first love of his life, Katherine Neal Whalin Gibbs, parents Urey and Bernadine Gibbs, and Col. C. J. and Juanita Hyde. “My Sweet Harold” is survived by his wife, the former Annette Hyde Gibbs; sons, David Moore Gibbs of Florida, Michael W. Gibbs, Capt. John Matthew Gibbs; beloved grandson, Blake Michael Gibbs, and sister, Phyllis Street from Texas. His funeral service will be at 1 pm on Monday , August 27, 2012 at Highlands Family-Owned Funeral Home, 3331 Taylorsville Rd.
