HOLZKNECT, HAROLD P. "PAUL" 82, of Louisville, KY, passed away Friday, June 25, 2010.
Paul was a member of St. Athanasius Church, a retired foreman at MacKay Engraving Corporation, a graduate of Ahrens Trade School, and a former president of Falls City Outboard Motor Boat Racing Assn.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Lorraine A. Holzknecht and father, John Frederick Holzknecht Sr.; sisters, Doris Holzknecht Roth, Betty Ann Holzknecht; and brother, John Frederick Holzknecht Jr.
A loving husband and father, Paul is survived by his wife of 53 years, Charlene; sons, David Holzknecht (Cathleen), Steve Holzknecht (Rita) and John Holzknecht; grandchildren, Chelsea and Shelby Holzknecht; James, Nicholas, and Zackary Holzknecht; sister, Rosemary Parsons; sister-in-law Bettye Holzknecht, brother-in-law Jack Roth, and several nieces and nephews. Paul's faith, strength, and grace in the face of adversity is an inspiration to his family and friends.
Visitation will be 11 a.m. - 8 p.m. Monday at Highlands Funeral Home, 3331 Taylorsville Road. A funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10 a.m. on Tuesday at St. Athanasius Catholic Church, 5915 Outer Loop, with burial to follow at Calvary Cemetery.
