Obituary for Jack W. O'Neil

O'NEIL, JACK W., 85, passed away suddenly on October 19, 2011 at his home in Vero Beach, FL.
He was born in Milwaukee, WI and retired to Vero Beach 18 years ago after a successful career as vice president of public relations for ITT in Chicago, IL and director of advertising for American Air Filter in Louisville. He was also the past president of the Chicago Advertising Association.
Mr. O'Neil earned a bachelor's degree from Northwestern University, Evanston, IL and his master's degree from Northern Illinois University, DeKalb, IL. Mr. O'Neil served in the U.S. Army Air Corps during World War II. He was a member of the U.S. Army Air Corps Reserves and an R.O.T.C. instructor. He was a member of St. Helen Catholic Church, Vero Beach.
Mr. O'Neil was preceded in death by his wife, Mary Alice O'Neil; and his two brothers, Donald and Tom.
Survivors include his daughters, Connie Ambrose (Mark), of Louisville and Eileen Grigutis (Rick), of New Albany, IN; his loving companion, Patricia Cannon, of Vero Beach; two grandchildren, Greg Grigutis and Shelly Kelley (Chad); one great-grandchild, Ava Kelley and his most beloved dog, Dutch.
Memorial contributions may be made to The Humane Society of Vero Beach, P.O. Box 644, Vero Beach, FL 32961 in memory of Mr. O'Neil.
Services: Visitation was held October 22, 2011 at Strunk Funeral Home, Vero Beach. Funeral service was held October 23, 2011 at the funeral home. Burial will take place in Calvary Cemetery. Highlands Funeral Home is in charge of local arrangements.
