SMATHERS, JAMES H., 66, of Louisville, passed away Sunday, May 22, 2011 at Baptist Hospital East.
He was a retired plastics engineer for General Electric and a member of the Elks Lodge #8. He was also in the Army Reserves.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Edwin and Margie Smathers.
He is survived by his wife, the former Linda Siegel; son, Lee Smathers (Laura); daughter, Lauren Metzmeier (Jerry); brother, Edwin D. Smathers (Mary Ellen); grandchildren, Kaylea and Trace Smathers and Josh and Ellie Metzmeier; and many loving nieces and nephews.
His funeral service will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday, May 25, 2011 at Highlands Funeral Home, 3331 Taylorsville Road with inurnment to follow in Resthaven Cemetery. Visitation will be from 2-8 p.m. Tuesday at Highlands.
