Obituary for Jerome E. "Romie" Wafzig
WAFZIG,
Jerome E. “Romie”, 82, of Louisville, passed away Friday, June 26, 2015.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Joseph and Mary Rose Wafzig and brothers, Raymond Wafzig and Rev. James Wafzig.
Romie is survived by his loving wife of 60 years, Melanie Mussler Wafzig; daughters, Lisa Reccius (Pat), Pamela Morris (Jim), Michelle Gentile (Rob) and Dawn Hanke (Eric); ten grandchildren, two great-grandchildren and sister-in-law, Patricia Wafzig.
His funeral Mass will be at 10:00 a.m. Tuesday, June 30, 2015 at St. Athanasius Catholic Church, 5915 Outer Loop with burial to follow in Calvary Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 2:00 – 8:00 p.m. Monday at Highlands Funeral Home, 3331 Taylorsville Rd.
No flowers please, donations may be made to Hosparus of Louisville or St. Athanasius Catholic Church.
