Obituary for John Robert Clifford Sr.

CLIFFORD, JOHN ROBERT "JACK" SR., 88, of Louisville, died Monday, February 13, 2012 at his home.
Born in Louisville, he was a 1941 graduate of St. Xavier High School and attended Xavier University and the University of Louisville. Jack was a Navy pilot in World War II, having served in the Pacific Theatre. He was currently employed by Clifford's Distributing Co. and was a member of St. Leonard Catholic Church.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Frank and Agnes Clifford; and his brothers, Wally Clifford, Fr. Campion Clifford, CP and Frank L. Clifford.
He is survived by his wife of 60 years, Patricia Short Clifford; his children, John R. Clifford Jr. (Christina), Karen Klempner (Jay), Kristen Clifford, Harry A. Clifford, Mark C. Clifford and Joseph P. Clifford; sisters, Mary Ann Hervey and Helen Jane Sellman; grandchildren, Emily, Meg and Michael Klempner, Mallory Krish (Chas), Amy and Kara Clifford, and John R. III and David Clifford; and many nieces and nephews.
His memorial Mass will be at 10 a.m. Friday, at St. Leonard, 440 Zorn Ave. with private burial in Calvary Cemetery afterwards. Memorial visitation will be 4 - 8 p.m. Thursday at Highlands Funeral Home, 3331 Taylorsville Road.
