KEMPER, Edward John
84, died peacefully at home on April 19, 2011 surrounded by his loving family. Mr. Kemper was a self-employed real estate appraiser and mortgage banker. He was president of the Society of Real Estate Appraisers, 1963 and 1977, and president of the Mortgage Bankers Association of Louisville, 1973. He was a charter member St. Raphael the Archangel Church and a member of the American Legion Post 201. He was a graduate of St. Xavier High School and attended the University of Louisville. He married his high school sweetheart, Ann Peterson, and enjoyed 62 years of marriage.
He was preceded in death by his loving son, Mark Kemper and his mother, Marie Welsh Kemper.
Survivors include, Steve Kemper (Judith) of West Hartford, CT; Vicki Franz (Doug) of Baltimore, MD; Guy Kemper (Heather) of Versailles, KY; and Mary Cohen (Barry) of Bethesda, MD; and nine grandchildren, Benjamin and Alexander Kemper, CT; Daniel and Julia Franz, MD; Zachary, Samuel and Laurel Kemper, KY; Sara and Abby Cohen, MD.
A funeral service will be held at 10am on Thursday, April 21 at St. Raphael, with burial at Calvary. Visitation on Wednesday from 2-4 and 6-8pm at Highlands Funeral Home, 3331 Taylorsville Road.
