OWEN, John P., 48, of Louisville, passed away Tuesday, May 31, 2011, at Norton Audubon Hospital.
He was a police officer for the LMPD, a KY Colonel, Trinity Alum, and a member of the Fraternal order of Police and St. Pius X Catholic Church.
He was preceded in death by his father, Floyd Owen.
He is survived by his loving wife, the former Stacie Alsman; son, Justin David Owen; mother, Mildred Owen; brothers, Steve Owen (Donna), Bill Owen (Donna), and Alan Owen (Vicki); sisters, Suzanne Ising (Jack), Mary Finley, Theresa Kurtz (Matt), and Sara Riley; and numerous nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews; and his O’Connell’s Pub friends.
His funeral Mass will be at 10 a.m. Saturday, June 4, at St. Barnabas Catholic Church, 3042 Hikes Ln, with burial to follow in Calvary Cemetery. Visitation will be from 1-9 p.m. Friday at Highlands Funeral Home, 3331 Taylorsville Rd.
