Obituary for Joseph L. KNAPP

82, was called home by his Heavenly Father on Tuesday, March 23, 2010. He was a veteran of World War II, a retiree of The Pillsbury Company after 48 years, and a member of The First Church of God on Taylorsville Rd. He was preceded in death by his parents Edward and Belle Knapp; brothers, Karl, Vernon and Ernest; and a sister, Lucille Smith. He is survived by his wife of 58 years, the former Jo Ann Posante; and numerous nieces and nephews he held dear to his heart. His funeral service will be at 11 a.m. Friday, March 26, 2010 at Highlands Funeral Home,3331 Taylorsville Rd, with burial to follow in Resthaven Cemetery. Visitation will be from 2-8 p.m. Thursday at Highlands. Expressions of sympathy may be made to St. Jude Children Research Hospital or his church. Special thanks to his good friends, Ray and Evelyn Rhodes and Tony and Loetta Leshon. Your love and compassion for Joe was unconditional and he loved you very much. Thanks also to friend and neighbor, Fran Cecil for her many good deeds on behalf of Joe and to Mary Flake and Pastor Dave Lewis and the congregationof First Church of God for their love and devotion to Joe.
