McCabe, Leland Joseph, 87, of Louisville, passed away Friday, December 23, 2011 at Baptist East Hospital.
Born in Cresco, Iowa, he was a U.S. Navy veteran of WWII, retired from A.C. Nielsen Co., and a member of St. Agnes Catholic Church. He was also a graduate of St. Louis University; top of his class. He will be remembered for his great love and dedication to his children and grandchildren, his passion for the great outdoors, and his meticulous attention to the weather.
Leland is survived by his loving wife of 51 years, Margo Aboud McCabe; his children, Lora Wroble (D.J.), Mark McCabe (Laura Lee), Teresa Oetken (Dano) and Leslie M. McCabe; and loving grandchildren, Ashley & Brittany Wroble, Lucas & Zoe McCabe, and Jordyn, Erik & Courtney Oetken.
His funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10:00 a.m. on Tuesday, December 27 at St. Agnes Catholic Church, 1920 Newburg Road, with burial in Cave Hill Cemetery. Visitation will be on Monday, from 1-8 p.m., at Highlands Funeral Home, 3331 Taylorsville Road.
