STRICKLAND, LLOYD "POPS," 84, passed away Thursday, June 26, 2014.
He was an Army Korean War veteran, retired model maker of 36 ½ years at General Electric and a member of Buechel Masonic Lodge #896.
Lloyd was preceded in death by his parents, George and Clara Strickland; brothers, William and George Strickland; sister, Sarah J. Strickland; son-in-law, Kenny Ferguson; and brother-in-laws, Jim Culver and Alan Watson.
He is survived by his wife, the former Doris Hughes; daughters, Patty (Kenny) and Susan; sons, Steve (Connie) and Michael (Wendy); sisters, Margaret Culver and Dorothy Watson; nine grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.
His funeral service will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday, July 1, 2014 at Highlands Family-Owned Funeral Home, 3331 Taylorsville Road, with burial to follow in Evergreen Cemetery. Visitation will be from 2-8 p.m. Monday at Highlands.
