Obituary

Lynn Morton Kubota passed away, Monday, January 28th, 2019 at the age of 56.

Originally born in Oregon, Lynn grew up in North Carolina. She attended Methodist College in Fayetteville, NC where she met Mamoru “Boots” Kubota, whom she married, and earned a Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration.

Lynn and “Boots” traveled the world together, having lived in; Tokyo, Japan, Bangkok, Thailand, Hong Kong, China, Carmel, Indiana, then ending up in Goshen, Kentucky, where they’ve spent the last seven years.

An avid reader, she loved mystery novels and supported public libraries. Whenever she found herself in a non-English speaking country, she always sought out libraries with English literature.

While in Japan, working for a translation company, she proofread numerous documents, everything from a letter to the Pope to English fishing instruction manuals. Her reading and writing skills allowed her to finish one-thousand-page books in mere days.

She loved dogs and was always committed to finding rescues when her home needed them.

In 1997, Lynn had her only child, David whom she showed her utmost love and care.

She is survived by her husband, “Boots” Kubota; her son, David Kubota; her parents, Norman & Marguerite Morton; her brother, Allyn Morton; her brother Jon Morton, and his wife Katie; her many nieces and nephew; and her dog, Hana.

In honor of Lynn, a service will be held at the Highlands Funeral Home in Louisville, KY on Saturday February 2nd, 2019 between 2-4 p.m.

Boots and David:
I am a co-student from Methodist College during the time that Lynn and Boots were there. I remember Lynn though we did not spend much time together. However, I remember Boots and Lynn as one of the classic, beautiful couples on campus along with Howard and Barbara and others. I am so glad to know you had each other all this time since.
God Bless you and your families and please know that you are in my prayers and I m.ourn with you

1 John 4:11-12 NIV "Dear friends, since God so loved us, we also ought to love one another. No one has ever seen God; but if we love one another, God lives in us and his love is made complete in us."

Romans 12:15 "Rejoice with those who rejoice; mourn with those who mourn."
