SHANNON, Mabel Florence, 99, of Louisville, passed away Sunday, January 1, 2012 at her residence. Born in Anderson Co, KY, she was the former Mabel Gritton. She was preceded in death by her son, William Samuel Shannon, Jr.; brother, Claude Gritton, Jr.; and sisters, Nellie Ennis and Ruby Foreman. She is survived by her sister, Marie Habeeb; granddaughter, Vicki Shuckman (Lewis); great-grandchildren, Lauren Belanger (Brad), Shannon Shuckman and Whitney Shuckman; and great-grandchildren, Blake and Brennan Belanger. Her funeral service will be at 10 a.m. Saturday, January 7, 2012 at Highlands Funeral Home, 3331 Taylorsville Rd. with burial to follow in Resthaven Cemetery. Visitation will be from 2-8 p.m. Friday at Highlands. Expressions of sympathy may be made to Kosair Children’s Hospital.
