Swindler, Magdalene (Madge) was born in Salyersville, KY. She was preceded in death by her parents, M.C. and Minnie Johnson. Madge graduated from Jenkins High School and St. Joseph School of Nursing in 1942 and worked for many years in various institutions in Ca., In., and Ky.
Madge has been active in many civic and charity organizations, mainly in the church and educational arena. She is a charter member of the Valley Women’s Club and an active member of Watkins Memorial United Methodist Church.
She is survived by her husband of 70 years, Clyde and three children, Murray (Utha), Mary Lynn Fuller (Jack) and Jim (Janet), all of Louisville, KY.; six grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; 1 great-great-granddaughter and a sister, Cleo Creech in Co.
Her funeral service will be at 10:00 a.m. Saturday, June 23, 2012 at Watkins United Methodist Church, 9800 Westport Rd. with burial in Louisville Memorial Gardens West.
Visitation will be from 4:00 -8:00 p.m. Friday at Highlands Family-Owned Funeral Home, 3331 Taylorsville Rd.
