Tobin, Marguerite Frances, 91, of Louisville, passed away Sunday, November 20, 2011 at Nazareth Home.
She was a native of Clarksburg, WV and the former Marguerite Boyle. Mrs. Tobin was a graduate of St. Anthony’s Hospital School of Nursing in OK, attended George Washington University and McGeorge Law School in Sacramento, CA and served in the Army Air Corps. She was a former board member of the San Francisco Opera, a member of the Jefferson County Medical Auxiliary, Big Spring Country Club, and the Women’s Bridge Club. She was a Lady Grand Cross in the Equestrian Order of The Holy Sepulcher and a member of Our Lady of Lourdes Parish.
Marguerite was preceded in death by her husband, Daniel A. Tobin, M.D.; brothers, James Boyle and John Boyle and sister, Mary Boyle.
She is survived by her sons, LTC Daniel Tobin (Ret.) (Mary Ann), Lt. Col. James Tobin, M.D. (Ret.) (Rosalisa), The Hon. John Tobin (COL, Ret.)(Karen), Joseph Tobin, Esq. (Patricia) and The Rev. Fr. Michael Tobin; eight grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.
Funeral Mass will be at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday November 23, 2011 in the chapel at Nazareth Home 2000 Newburg Rd. with burial in Calvary Cemetery. Visitation will be from 2-4 & 6-9 p.m. Tuesday at Highlands Family-Owned Funeral Home, 3331 Taylorsville Rd.
