PORTARO, Mario, 85, of Louisville, passed away on Saturday, August 16, 2014.
Born in Herbert, PA, he was a U.S. Army Korean War veteran, a member of the Knights of Columbus, and a Catholic by faith.
He is survived by his wife of almost 59 years, Virginia Norma Portaro; children, Charlotte M. Hawkins (Hawk), Linda J. Portaro, Joseph G. Portaro, and Lawrence M. Portaro (Lesley); 5 grandchildren; and 1 great-grandchild.
Mario’s memorial visitation will be from 4-8pm on Tuesday, August 19th at Highlands Funeral Home, 3331 Taylorsville Road. He will be buried at Kentucky Veteran’s Cemetery-Central.
