OWEN, MARY ALICE, 31, passed away Sunday, July 17, 2011.
Mary Alice chose to attend and was a proud graduate of Central High School, Class of 97'. She had attended the University of Louisville and was a student athletic trainer for U of L football. She enjoyed NASCAR with her brother and was one of Kyle Busch's biggest fans. Mary Alice was an avid U of L sports fan, loved Maya Angelou poetry, and was a published poet herself.
She was preceded in death by her grandfathers, Ralph Case and Floyd Owen.
She is survived by her parents, Bill and Donna Owen; one brother, Jacob Joseph Owen; grandmothers, Dovie Case and Mildred Owen; and numerous aunts, uncles, and cousins.
Her funeral service will be at 1 p.m. Friday, July 22, 2011 at Highlands Funeral Home, 3331 Taylorsville Road, with burial to follow in Cave Hill Cemetery. Visitation will be from 2-8 p.m. Thursday at Highlands, Mary Alice loved and accepted everyone regardless of their mental or physical challenges.
