BOSTAIN, Mildred Estelle Martin, 91, of Louisville passed away Thursday, August 25 at Norton Pavilion.
Mildred was the former bookkeeper for Louisville Refining Company. She was also the PTA President of Shawnee Elementary, Kenwood Elementary and Western High Schools. She was the Jefferson County and 5th District PTA Council Presidents, KY State PTA Board Secretary, and a lifelong Baptist. She was a Sunday School teacher at Hazelwood and Kenwood Baptist Churches, and attended Crescent Hill and Hurstbourne Baptist Churches. Mildred was a world traveler and lived in Sydney, Australia; Basking Ridge, N.J.; Brussels, Belgium and Hull, England.
Mildred was preceded in death by her husband, Robert K. Bostain; parents Daniel Edgar Martin and Mary Edna McGuffin Martin; and 2 brothers, Gus and Guy Martin.
She is survived by her children, David R. Bostain and Jane Minter (Larry); and granddaughter Anna Jane Minter.
Mildred’s funeral service will be at 6:00 p.m. Sunday, August 28, 2011 at Highlands Family Owned Funeral Home, 3331 Taylorsville Road with visitation at Highlands on Sunday from 2-8. Interment will be at Cave Hill Cemetery.
