Ramsey, Mildred Lawson “Micki”, 87, of Louisville, passed away Monday, August 8, 2011.
She was the former Mildred Marie Mehler, a beautiful, loving mother, grandmother and talented artist. As a young artist she earned a scholarship to the Louisville School of Art after graduating from Atherton High School. She was a longtime member and President of the Crit Club, the Louisville Watercolor Society, Kenwood Hill Homemakers and St. Thomas More Catholic Church. Micki’s art won many awards and was displayed at the J.B. Speed Museum.
She was preceded in death by her first husband, John Phillip Lawson; her second husband, John L. Ramsey and sons-in-law, Earl Chandler and Donnie Smith.
Micki is survived by her son, John Philip Lawson, Jr. (Mary Beth); daughters, Linda Chandler and Gail Smith; grandchildren, Lori Soph (Steve), Greg Chandler, Drew Smith, Zachery Smith (Pamela) and Taylor Lawson and great-grandchildren, Ella, Griffin and Asher.
Her funeral service will be at 1:00 pm Friday, August 12, 2011 at Highlands Family-Owned Funeral Home, 3331 Taylorsville Rd. with burial in Calvary Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 2:00-8:00 pm Thursday at Highlands.
