Ora Ghesquier McCandless passed away Thursday, March 18, 2010. A native of Harrison County, she was preceded in death by her parents, Jess and Myrtle Tevis and her sister Edna Thompson. Before retiring she did accounting work for Phillips Petroleum Co. and Porter Paint Home Office. With her late husband, D.C. McCandless, she was co-owner of Economy Aluminum Co. Ora was a member of Beargrass Christian Church. Her survivors include daughters Marcia Ghesquier and Victoria Stevens (Ben Adrian); a grandson, Shannon Stevens; granddaughter Dawn Stevens; one great-grandaughter, Rachael; and a niece and two nephews. The funeral service will be at Highlands Family-Owned Funeral Home, 3331 Taylorsville Rd., at 1 p.m., Monday, March 22, 2010 with burial in Resthaven Cemetery. Visitation will be Sunday from 2-4 p.m. and 6-8 p.m. Expressions of sympathy may be made to her church library at 4100 Shelbyville Rd., Louisville, KY 40207.
