Obituary for Oscar "Jerry" Yokley

YOKLEY, OSCAR G. "JERRY," 73, of Louisville, passed away Sunday, November 28, 2010 at Hosparus of Louisville.
He retired from Porcelain Metals Engineering where he worked for 43 years, was a Navy veteran serving on the aircraft carrier the USS Bennington, a member of the Elks Club #8 and St. Agnes Catholic Church. He bowled in the senior league at the Rose Bowl.
Jerry was preceded in death by his parents, Kora and Otis Yokley; his first wife, Patricia Cooksey Yokley; a son, Scott Yokley; brother, Edgar Yokley; and nephew, David Yokley.
He is survived by his wife, Joanne Thompson Yokley; son, Mark Yokley (Karen); stepsons, Jeffrey (Pam), Bruce and Scott Thompson; sisters-in-law, Mary Agnes Long (Pete) and Elizabeth Thurman (Jack); three grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.
His service will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday December 1, 2010 at Highlands-Family Owned Funeral Home, 3331 Taylorsville Road, with burial in Cave Hill Cemetery. Visitation will be from 1-8 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Cerebral Palsy School of Louisville or Hosparus of Louisville.
