Obituary for Peggy Joyce Greer

GREER, Peggy Joyce Ingle, 74, of Louisville, passed away on the evening of January 22, 2012, in the presence of her family at Westport Place.
Peggy was born in Etowah, Tennessee, on June 18, 1937, the youngest of four children. She grew up in Louisville, graduating from DuPont Manual High School Class of 1955.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Walter James and Atha Lee Ingle; and sister, Evelyn E. Mayberry.
She is survived by her loving husband of 57 years, Howard L. Greer, Sr., and her children, daughter Deborah L. Gunn of Louisville, and son Howard “Lee” Greer, Jr. (Julie) of Dallas, Georgia; brothers James C. Ingle of Louisville, and Floyd L. Ingle (Gayle) of Lynn Haven, Florida.
She was a devoted and talented homemaker, wife and mother, a steadfast believer in Jesus Christ, as a just and merciful God and Savior. Peggy was a kind and gentle, sweet lady whose memory will be cherished by all who knew her.
The family would like to thank all the kind souls who helped Peggy during her journey, especially CAREtenders and Westport Place.
Peggy’s funeral service will be Thursday, January 26, at Highlands Funeral Home, 3331 Taylorsville Road, with burial in Cave Hill Cemetery. Visitation will be from 2-8 at Highlands.
Expressions of sympathy may be made to her favorite charity, the WHAS Crusade for Children.
