SHARTZER, Philip E., 78, passed away Wednesday, August 13, 2014.
Upon graduation from DuPont Manual High School, Phil played Professional Baseball for the Cincinnati Reds organization. He was a member of Southeast Christian Church.
He is survived by his wife, Judy Shartzer; sister, Mildred Roberts (Tom); sister-in-law, Ruth Shartzer (Hayward); three children, Laura Nichols (Randy), Jeff Shartzer (Kim) and Phyllis Herl (Bill); 6 grandchildren, Ross, LeeAnne, Mallory, Bart, Ashley and Chelsey; and 4 great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be on Friday, August 15 from 2-6pm at Highlands Funeral Home, 3331 Taylorsville Road. A private family service and burial has been planned.
