Obituary for Richard "Dick" Alberg

Richard "Dick"  Alberg
ALBERG, Richard “Dick”, 76, of Louisville, passed away on Friday, January 31, 2014 at Baptist Health Louisville.

Born in Melrose Park, IL, he was a teacher and retired counselor from JCPS, and upon retirement was a marriage counselor and family therapist at Shively Area Ministry. He loved the Lord and his church, Highview Baptist Church, where he was in the orchestra, and attended the ABF Class and Small Prayer Group. He was also a member of JCTA, KMFT, and The Gideons.

Dick was preceded in death by his son, David Alberg; and his parents, Adolph & Edna Alberg.

He is survived by his loving wife, Mary Kay Jones Alberg; daughter, Deborah Williams (Jim), grandchildren Emma and Ben; brother, Fred Alberg (Tina); and sister, Sandra Gividen. After marrying into his wife’s family, they became his family: children Rick Jones (Carolyn), David Jones (Diane) and grandchildren, Andrew, Sierra and Dominique; and great-grandchildren, Charlotte and Jonah.

Dick’s funeral service will be at 11:00 am on Wednesday, February 5th at Highlands Family-Owned Funeral Home, 3331 Taylorsville Road, with burial to follow in Resthaven Cemetery. Visitation will be from 3-8 pm on Tuesday at Highlands.
