STICH, RICHARD C. "DICK," 80, of Louisville passed away September 28, 2010 in his home surrounded by family. Dick was a former design engineer at GE Appliance Park, a member of the GE Elfin Society and a Eucharistic Minister for his church, Saint Barnabas. Dick grew up in Germantown and graduated from St. Xavier High School ('47) and from the University of Kentucky School of Engineering ('57). He was a veteran of the Korean War, having served in the Navy on the USS Haven. He was loved and respected by his family and friends. He is preceded in death by his beautiful wife, Patti Gilligan Stich; his parents; his brothers, Norb and Tony Stich; and his sister, Mary Ann Ridge. His memory will be treasured by his sister, Rosie Hosch; his sons, Rick and Andrew Stich (Pam); daughters, Becky Pember (Scott), Kara "Kim" Sidebottom, Sam Lewis (Mike)and Jonni Miller (Greg); along with his grandchildren,Michael, Brent and Danielle Miller,JT and Kristen Lewis, Jennifer Pember, Richard, Abraham and Benjamin Stich,Samantha Sidebottom, Stephanie Sidebottom (Dustin Drewry) and Brian Stich (Hillary); great granddaughter, Maria Stich. Visitation will be at Highlands Funeral Home, 3331 Taylorsville Road, on Friday, October 1, 2010 from 2-8 p.m. The funeral will be at St. Barnabas Catholic Church, 3042 Hikes Lane, at 10 a.m. Saturday, October 2, 2010. In lieu of flowers, the family would greatly appreciate memorial gifts be sent to Maryhurst or to Boys' and Girls' Haven, which were Dick's favorite charities.
