Obituary for Robert K. Hunt

Hunt, Robert (Bob) K., 80, passed away Friday, September 17, 2010 Baptist East Hospital with his family by his side. Bob was born in Owensboro, KY., and raised in Lone Oak, Paducah, he graduated from Lone Oak High School, Bowling Green Business College and the University of Kentucky Law School, and retired from State Farm Insurance as a claims superintendant. Bob served his country proudly during the Korean War. After retirement he took on his favorite job as granddad to Amelia, Kathryn and Rachel. Bob was also an avid University of Kentucky fan. Bob was preceded in death by his parents I.N. and Ruth White Hunt, and infant twin grandchildren, Emma and Leo Morrissey. He is survived by his wife of 54 years, the former Glen Lira Hunt; daughters, Susan Stuckey (Steve) and Lisa Morrissey (Patrick); grandchildren Amelia Morrissey, Kathryn and Rachel Stuckey; brothers Irvin Neal (Jean), Frank (Modell), Jack (Faye); sisters, Betty Stewart, Nancy Buckingham (Bill),Diane Skinner (Gary), Emma Lira as well as many nieces and nephews. He will also be missed by his loyal companion Lucy. Funeral service will be held at Highlands Family-Owned Funeral Home, 3331 Taylorsville Rd., Tuesday, September 21 at 10 a.m., with visitation on Monday from 3-8 at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, the family is requesting that donations go to Make A Wish Foundation, 9502 Williamsburg Plaza, Louisville, KY 40222 or to The Center For Courageous Kids, 1501 Burnley Rd., Scottsville KY., 42164.
