MCINTYRE, ROBERT JAMES, JR., 87, passed away on Thursday, July 7, 2011 at Baptist Hospital East.
Bob was a past board member of the Cerebral Palsy School, a member of Our Lady of Lourdes Church, Serra Club, University Club, and Wranglers Club. He was a graduate of St. Xavier High School and University of Louisville, a CPA, an assistant vice president of CSX Corporation, and a Bronze Star Army veteran of World War II.
Bob was preceded in death by an infant son, Michael Joseph.
He is survived by his wife of 61 years, Mary Alice Maloney McIntyre; two sons, John M. (Carol), and Robert J. III; two daughters, Mary Patricia Salem (Ellis) and Mary Margaret McIntyre; two brothers, John W. (Helen), and James A. (Judy); three grandchildren, Katie Buttermore (John Paul), Kevin and Maggie McIntyre.
His funeral Mass will be celebrated at noon Monday, July 11, 2011 at Our Lady of Lourdes Church, 508 Breckenridge Lane, with burial in Calvary Cemetery. Visitation will be held 3-7 p.m. Saturday at Highlands Funeral Home, 3331 Taylorsville Road.
The family wishes to express their gratitude to Dr. Esther Costel and Dr. Adrian Pellegrini, the Little Sisters of the Poor, Barton House, and Baptist East Palliative Care Unit for the care of Bob and to the Eucharistic Ministers of Our Lady of Lourdes Church.
