She lived most of her life in Louisville though she moved to Los Angeles, CA during the war and worked while Harold served in the United States Marines in the Pacific.
They returned to Louisville and she worked in retail sales at Bacon's Department Store until she and Harold had their two sons. She assisted him in building his home construction business and and was a homemaker and enjoyed her family, community and church activities. Ruby, Harold and their sons were charter members of St. Mark United Methodist Church in 1957. They were active members in the life of the church and worked tirelessly in the development of the Loucon Methodist Church Camp Training and Retreat Center in Leitchfield, KY. Ruby returned to sales at Stewart's Department Store when it opened at Oxmoor Center. Upon retirement, Ruby and Harold enjoyed traveling extensively including winters in Florida with friends, continued their church work and spending time with family. They both enjoyed playing cards, especially bridge which she continued later in life.
