STONE, SIDNEY ELLEN, 77, died October 25, 2011 at Baptist East Hospital.
She was a retired teacher, having taught in the Louisville and Jefferson County School Systems for 40 years at both Shawnee and DuPont Manual High Schools.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Helen and Rosco Stone, of Hickman, KY; uncles, Sidney Ray Hamby and Kent Hamby; aunt, Mozelle Travis; and sisters, Agnes Burnett and Shirley Allen.
Sidney is survived by her brother, Charles Stone, of Lexington, KY; cousins, Melinda Travis (Tom), of Benton, KY and Linda Ketchum of New York, NY; nieces, Helen Burnett Sessions (Lee), of Atlanta, GA, and Linda Witty (John), of Chattanooga, TN; nephews, Sid Allen, of New Orleans, LA, Mike Burnett (Maribeth), of Portland, OR and Tom Burnett (Debbie), Chagrin Falls, OH; six great-nieces and nephews and five great-great nieces and nephews. She is also survived by Dolores Mullins, longtime friend and caregiver.
Funeral services will be on Saturday at 1:30 p.m. at the First Methodist Church in Hickman, with burial to follow in the Hickman Cemetery. Visitation in Louisville will be from 4 - 8 p.m. Friday at Highlands Funeral Home, 3331 Taylorsville Road.
